What is CSR? Corporate Social/Sustainable Responsibility is a framework which is developed in order to give companies a managable concept to produce withs social and environmental values in mind. It is based on the triple bottom line of the three P;s; People, Planet and Profit: Social, environmental and economic aspects of production.
Why CSR?
The world today faces many prolems including climate change and deforestation. In order to contribute to solutions companies can adjust their policies to produce in a way which satisfies their needs without compromisng the needs of the future generations, or as it is also called, in a sustainable manner. As the world is becoming global and more and more a company's network stretches the world, companies can play a significant role in the solution of global problems. Also by stretching the world many people from different cultures are affected by a company's business. This is why a company has a responsibility to take care of society and the environment and CSR is a tool which can be used for this purpose.
