Vision: As the profitable segment of certified and value added timber products is going from small niche to mainstream, competition is increasing and larger players start to claim the global business. The margins are still good, the volumes increasing, but competition is getting tougher. We strive to be the leading supplier of innovative and sustainable timber products in our chosen markets.

Mission: Lionex will be known as the most innovative and reliable business partner in sustainable sawn timber and value added timber products, operating globally and communicating pragmatic and transparent.

1. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should be endorsed to a sustainability certification scheme which is acknowledged according to European criteria.
   

2. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should at all times be able to provide documents which proof the known source of every log (Wood Origin Control).

3. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should apply to international and national laws regarding health and safety management.

4. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should at least implement and perform the following protocols concerning safety and health management:
   • Fire alarm protocols including; what to do in case of fire, a map with emergency exits and fire extinguishers on prominent places in the company and regular fire drills. This protocol needs to be checked and reviewed on an annual basis.
   • Health management protocols including; how many people with first aid training should be in the company on a daily basis, first aid kits on prominent places in the company, agreements on the frequency of first aid training attended by employees and a standard form to fill out if an accident happens. This protocol needs to be checked and reviewed on an annual basis.
   • Clear manuals for using machinery, which are understandable for all people at the company, on every machine in the company.

5. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should at least implement and perform the following protocols concerning environmental dangerous actions.
• Manuals for how to dispose waste. For every kind of waste produced by the company a waste disposal manual should be developed. These manuals need to be checked and reviewed on an annual basis. The company should insist employees will perform as stated in the manuals.
• Manuals for how to work with chemicals and/or biological controllers. For every chemical and/or biological controller which is used all alternatives should be investigated on an annual basis. Furthermore all employees working with chemicals and/ or biological controllers need to wear extra safety gear like goggles, hand gloves and a foot cab. Manuals for how to work with chemicals and/or biological control need to be available at prominent places in the company. If a chemical and/or biological controller provokes extra health dangers a person trained in first aid should always be present if these are used and all employees should be trained in what to do in case of an accident.

6. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should work according to the universal declaration of the human rights and other international guidelines and national laws concerning workers’ rights.
   • Right to a safe and healthy working place.
   • Right to a guarantee of work for temporary foreign workers for the period they are contracted by the company.
   • Right to proper housing during the contracted period for temporary foreign workers.
   • No forced labor
   • No child labor
   • No violations of human rights in conflict areas
   • Earning the local minimum wage

7. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should provide an annual report to Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. every year.

8. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should provide transparency to Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. at all times.

9. All companies Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. is doing business with should be endorsed to the Accepted Timber Supply Program developed by Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd.
