Stakeholder dialogue

Stakeholders are all the people and/or organizations which are affected by the Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. business. We divide the Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. stakeholders in five different groups:

1. Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. staff
2. Stakeholders in the Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. production side; logging companies, agents, sawmills, processing companies and forwarding companies.
3. Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. customers
4. NGOs representing social and environmental issues.
5. Other institutions like; the board of directors, certification councils, VVNH and Banks.

Communication is a key issue in the Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. business strategy. That is why we developed a communication system to keep all our stakeholders informed about our business. In light of the communication system, 4 Quarterly reports are published on our website and an annual third party assessment is conducted. This is also published on the Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. website. The quarterly reports and the annual third party assessment will show the progress we as Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. and our suppliers have made in light of the CSR policy.

We involve our staff in our planning and in the CSR policy. A team of experts is established with three people with different expertise in social, environmental and business issues. This team works with an enthusiasm to bring to our CSR policy into a success.

Our communication system to and with our suppliers is based on the Accepted Timber Supply Program. By having close contact with our suppliers we, in corporation with our suppliers, are able to involve them in our CSR program. This way not only Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. will become a responsible company, but also our suppliers are able to adapt to the growing market for responsible produced products.

Our customers are very important for Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. We aim to be a reliable company which is transparent to our customers at all times. The quarterly reports published on the website and an annual third party assessment should enable us to proof transparency and reliability.

NGOs represent a special group of stakeholders. We work in corporation with WWF and Centre for Orang Asli concerns to address social and environmental issues. WWF and Centre for Orang Asli Concerns are asked for their input in our CSR policy and for valuable information which might influence our supply chain. They will also receive our quarterly reports and the annual third party assessment.

Last the other institutions like the board of directors, certification councils, VVNH and Banks. In this case it is important to be transparent at all times. Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. as a business depends on these institutions so reliability and transparency are key issues. By implementing the communication system Lionex (M) Sdn. Bhd. will be known as a reliable and transparent company by all its stakeholders.
