Lionex has always been dedicated to following the timber trail.Established in 1971 as the purchasing office for the then Fetim/Bekol group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Lionex moved to Singapore and develop as an exporter of mainly Indonesian timber that was inspected and dried locally for the European market. Lionex returned to Kuala Lumpur in the eighties when the flow of wood shifted back to Malaysia. In the mid-nineties Lionex, together with the Dutch company Bekol International, was taken over by DPW van Stolk Holding, a timber company based in Rotterdam but operating internationally. Since 2000, Lionex has developed an extensive portfolio of value added timber products for its European customers including KOMO fingerjointed and laminated components, a range of mouldings and a complete decking program. The majority of the products from Lionex are channelled to the DIY-markets, construction firms, building component distributors and factories producing doors and windows in The Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Greece, Czech Republic, Turkey, Austria, United Kingdom and the Middle East. For selected European and Middle Eastern markets, Lionex works together with exclusive marketing partners. |
